VOLKAN YANGIN
Rose of redemption but a thorn in your side

There was little love to be lost between Volkan and his counterparts. Molten flames danced along the withers of the great beast, dwindling clouds of black vapor exiting his nostrils with each exhale. It was the first time he'd stepped away from the subterrane since the beginning of the winter season and it felt great to stretch his legs. Most of all, he finally had the opportunity to clear his nostrils from the stink of half-breed. So far it didn't seem to be working. He'd spent so much time with them down there already that the smell had ingrained itself with fine hairs lining his sinuses. He gave a hearty sneeze more than once, hoping to aid in the shedding of scent followed by a long drawn inhale.

His toes touched down on the smooth rock surface of the hotsprings, papaya whip orbs scanning the horizon to observe the gradient skyline as it shifted from hot red to brilliant yellow. He'd always been an early riser, and the sunrise was one of his favorite pastimes. The steam that rose from the heated pools before him tickled his nose as it dispersed into the atmosphere above. While many may have pegged him to be a creature born to hate the water, he didn't mind it so much. Back in his birth lands a wolf was considered to be weak if he or she couldn't condition themselves to the element; after all water was fire's biggest adversary on the elemental chart. A wolf needed to learn how to control the fire within.

He let his forelimbs dip into the pool first, stopping to take one more look around and check his surroundings before submerging himself a little deeper. The magma stripes that decorated the lower portion of his body fizzled and steamed as his body entered. Some of the water spilled out from the sides, quickly absorbed through the cracks. What little remained was left to steam away from the difference in temperature. At the height of it's depth the pool only reached just below his shoulders, which he thought was perfect. It was just enough to get comfortable with and not feel overwhelmed. One might even call it relaxing. His coarse coat drew taut at the flex of his muscles, outlining each one like a brush inking a line. There were places that didn't outline his form well anymore though, such as his stomach and shoulders. The time spent wasting away inside the caves had caused his body to turn on itself, consuming the proteins for energy instead of fat. The fibers grew weak, less defined. He could see the change in his reflection in the water, and tried his best not to take any notice lest he aggravate himself. There would always be opportunity to shred more muscle fiber in the weeks to come.

When he was finally done pacing the edges of the pool he decided to rest his giant head on one of the rocks bulging out from the center. It was just tall enough for him to rest his head upon while standing at full height, which also made it taller than the rocks surrounding the outer region. He inhaled another deep breath and exhaled, flicking his stubby tail like a doe as he let his elongated ears droop in the slightest. He didn't want to think about Domine or Vhago right now. He just wanted to focus on relieving the stress they'd caused him up until this point, and pray to the earth that it wasn't leading him astray by demanding he follow this half breed.

Juno Low Control

The morning had come but the red woman was up long before the hot orb spread its yellow rays across the sky. She did not leave the spring for the reason that she had no intentions of leaving just yet. The red woman strolled through the spring with the intentions of satisfying her hunger, her stomach growled with each day as a reminder that she needed to be fed, but it was often ignored up until now. Juno was once curled under the night sky, stars danced above her head while she rested quietly away from the spring. It was her stomach that grumbled, interrupting the silent night. Eyes peeled opened to reveal its honey-like orbs, the growling grew louder, not allowing the woman to rest peacefully until her hunger was sated.  Now she traverses quietly, a snort pushed out and flared the woman’s nostrils when she slowly rose her head, humid air was thick but it did not falter her sense to find a meal to enjoy.

Ah, there you are.

A smirk spread across her muzzle and her limbs began to carry her body west to track the scent. It was a brisk walk, talons scraping against the rocky earth with her long plumage barely touching the floor. The scent grew stronger, but so did the humid air as the sun now barely crept above the horizon. It would have been a hindrance on her hunt if she did not move as fast as she would like. The night sky was her ally, shrouding her body and darkening her coat only to reveal the orbs that peered out into the darkness. She shifted her gaze to observe her scenery thoroughly, eyes widening when locating the prey she had desired rather close to her. An Ermine plump with fatness around the stomach, curled and asleep, a perfect meal for the red mistress. A pink tongue rolled from her maw as it parted open, salivated and smacking against her muzzle when she closes it.

Eyes flicked forward to gaze up at the horizon, tempting Juno to move quickly before it was too late. Her red body coiled back, wings stretched out and suddenly the red mistress lunged forward to release a snarl as her front limbs extended and her talons latched on to the body of the smaller creature. It was a startling move that awoken the creature, letting out a terrified screech as it thrashed from the sharp talons digging into its back. Juno made a quick move to lower her head to clamp her jaw into the creature’s back while shaking her head until there was no other sound coming from the Ermine. The creature was dead. She breathed heavily but pressed forward at a brisk pace to move away from her hunting area. She was brought back to the spring with a particular scent that hung in the air.

Another one?

Juno exhaled deeply, her pace slowed and her head held high to keep her meal from being dragged across the floor. Another wold was present, their scent fogged up her nostrils and her body was instantly drawn to it. She did not know who to expect. Lydia was the first she had encountered in the spring and their meeting was… interesting. The red mistress would definitely remember her. As the woman drew closer, she located the figure of the other wolf, a fiery one in fact. Her gaze lingered on the other for a moment until she tore away. Her jaws shifted to have a tighter grip on her food and continued to walk. From the look on their face, it did not seem wise to bother them, nor was she in the mood be entertained. Hunger was her main drive and all she wanted to do was eat.

Rose of redemption but a thorn in your side

The behemoth's nose scrunched abruptly, his lips instantly curling up and pulling back down repeatedly as he reared his head back and gave a few hefty sneezes in an attempt to rid himself of the stench. Tengu, no mistake. Papaya whip orbs would open near instantly to glance around before he dipped his nose into the water, making small bubbles while he let the water fill into his nasal cavities like a saline wash. Had she not possessed a tint of red about her frame he may have missed her, but the color led his eyes to her just in time to catch a glimpse before she turned to walk away.

At least this wolf had brains about them; not as brazen or stupid as the rest of her ilk that would dare approach to make contact. Sometimes he didn't understand what the fuck was going through their minds. What possessed these Aspherians to walk up to complete strangers and start talking, as though they were free from any form of physical punishment for it? Did they not live in a savage world where the strong devoured the weak? Nonsense; utter insanity.

Lifting his muzzle out from the waters he felt the need to place a greater distance between the two. He waded through to the shallow end of the pool and lifted himself out. The sound of water splashing at his feet was audible, but eventually died down from a roar to a fizzle once all that remained was the liquid clinging to his pelt. It found whatever way it could to roll down his body and pelt onto the floor in slow, but consistent streams. It was usually a good idea for one to shake themselves off to avoid the inconvenience of extra weight and noisy drips, but Volkan was the type of beast to not give a shit. He got as far as two pools down and settled there, re-submerging himself into another spring where he circled around for a short while before laying himself down against an inner wall. This pool wasn't as deep as the other, nor did it have the convenient head rest, but it was better than risking unwanted contact.
