BREED SELECTION
Selecting a breed on Savagery greatly impacts the cost of the mutations in character creator! Each breed also possesses 3 unique mutations specific exclusively to them. Mutations listed as being common are the cheapest available options in the character creator, while mutations labeled as rare are the most expensive. This doesn't mean you're expected to create characters according to the breed with the cheapest options! It just means if you create a character with mutations higher priced in a certain breed your character is just that much more rare and unique in our world :)

HELPFUL LINKS
Breeds Character Points Life Cycles

The following table illustrates the common heights for each breed. Characters do not have to follow this strictly; it's just here for reference to show which heights are free without use of character points at the start. For more information on character points please refer to the section below.

!! Our site does not have any restrictions or limitations to the color of your character's pelt or eyes.

TENGU
Common Mutations
Tengu may possess many or none of the following mutations:
  • Feathered Wings
  • Bird Talons
  • Beaks
  • Scales
  • Feathered Tails
Breed Specific Mutations
Tengu are the only breed in posession of these traits! You can pick none or all three for 8CP each.
  • Acute Vision
  • Magnoecentric
  • Acute Hearing

D
E
S
C
Just as there are many species of birds there are also many different types of Tengu. Among the most common differentiation are the winged and wingless. It's been observed that wingless Tengu are commonly refereed to as "main landers" due to the connection between the Tenya Isles and Ageaveras that presented little need for the wolves to actually use flight to travel from place to place while the winged Tengu were more commonly observed inhabiting the farther regions of the Tenya Isles, or more commonly known as "uplanders". Some Tengu feel prejudice towards their flightless cousins; superstitious they're responsible for the rise in flightless pups, but the cause is actually due to an excessive build-up of calcium intake during the pups first few months inside the womb that cause their hollow bones to harden and prevent flight.

!! Most Tengu are commonly small (3'5" - 4'10") on account of possessing a trait for hollow bones which renders them able to fly. This does not apply to all Tengu, however. There are many who tower into the 5' or 6' category with enormous wing spans.

FEARU
Common Mutations
Fearu may possess many or none of the following mutations:
  • Bat/Dragon Wings
  • Snake Fangs
  • Horns
  • Scales
  • Spikes

  • Infravision
  • Cold-blooded
  • Bacterial Bite

D
E
S
C
Native to the region of Sumi-Tsa, the Fearu are a vast degree of reptilian wolves that inhabit land, sea and sky. Known to have been the only natural sky-born rivals of the Tengu, many of the Fearu would rather avoid war at all cost in order to preserve historic sites and structure. Their inexorable stance on keeping the peace ultimately shaped the laws and regulations of Taidos for hundreds of years when the pack inhabited their home lands. There are so many different types of Fearu that no stereotype can be used to describe them, but when spoken of many choose to remember them based off the greatest scholar in Aspherian history known as Rajnhart the Taleskeeper.

!! Fearu are observed as being on the smaller spectrum (3'5" - 4'10"), but it isn't uncommon to see larger sizes. They're known for their ability to swallow large prey due to their detachable jaws.

VANYARA
Common Mutations
Vanyara may possess many or none of the following mutations:
  • Multiple Ears
  • Quills
  • Extra Eyes
  • Antlers
  • Horns

C
The Vanyara are a breed who spawn from the earth and normally a medium size range (4'11" - 5'4"). They may take on the appearance, scent, and traits of whichever sex they choose before birth. Alternatively they may possess no gender at all. Each Vanyara shares an affinity for one or more elements, with many embody physical characteristics of as proof. Rumor among the breeds have led wolves to believe their temperament is based off the element they resemble most. Arslan, the Monolith, who thought himself a god is said to be of Vanyara roots.

!! Vanyara are more commonly average size, but it isn't uncommon to experience them in larger or smaller sizes. They're said to have a trait for hearing the voices of nature and being able to communicate with the earth.

* Fire Vanyara may have bright fire markings adorning their pelt or hot magma brewing in their gut with lava saliva; Earth Vanyara may possess bodies made entirely from mud, stone, or wood with various flora or roots twisting around them, etc. Multiple elements are allowed. Alternatively they may be terrestrial wolves with brightly colored markings.

AKDARR
Common Mutations
Akdarr may possess many or none of the following mutations:
  • Beastial Hybrid
  • Hooves
  • Beastial Tail
  • Beastial Ears
  • Horns
  • Spikes
Breed Specific Mutations
Akdarr are the only breed in posession of these traits! You can pick none or all three for 8CP each.
  • Adipose Tissue

D
E
S
C
Originating from regions all across the globe, the Akdarr are as diverse as you can get. While they're typically mutated to resemble other beasts they may appear closer to terrestrial wolves with neutral or not too overly bright colors. An Akdarr fits in anywhere, finding themselves most at home around all kinds of breeds and beasties. The Eidolon known as Zehrig is said to have been of this breed.

!! Akdarr are commonly on the larger spectrum in size (6'0" - 6'5"), but it's not uncommon to see them in smaller sizes. They may or may not be in possession of an animal companion due to their affinity to wildlife.

CROSS BREED
Common Mutations
Cross Breeds may possess many or none of the following mutations:
Varies with parents. A crossbreed is created in our character creator by selecting a breed from whichever parent the RPer would like to gain traits from.
Breed Specific Mutations
A cross breed's specific mutations are inherited from a single parent's breed.
Selected from a single parent's breed specific mutations listings among the 4 other breeds above.

D
E
S
C
Cross breeds are the result of breeding different breeds. The social standpoint on them varies according to pack and region; some view them as strong stock because of their increased resistence to sickness and infection while others view them as an abomination and a defilment of the true breed. They've been around for as long as the first wolves who walked Aspheria -- a living testament that love knows no boundaries. Much like the Akdarr, these wolves are generally scattered all over the world and originate from where ever they were birthed, sharing the ancestrial history of their parents before them.

!! Cross breeds gain their mutations and heights depending on their parent's breeds. The only special trait they possess is an increased resistence to infections and illnesses. This excludes illness caused by spells.

Each character is granted a total of 35 character points to allot among a variety of mutations, breed specific mutations, sizes, and auras. Depending on the breed selected you'll find certain mutations will cost less or more. The following chart has been composed to help your selection.

Auras

Aura selection is not necessary at all, but you may purchase a maximum of one. No benefit in combat is provided by any of the following selections, they are strictly for role play purposes. Every breed has the same offered for the same exact prices. The following outlines what each selection entails:
  • Aura of Courage - You inspire those around you. Immune to fear or intimidation magiks. Nullifies grim aura if in the same vicinity, causing both aura's to have no affect.

  • Grim Aura - Causes those surrounding you to become uneasy, nervous, and have a fear of death billowing in their mind. The holder of the aura may choose to individually null this affect on any they are aware of (usually allies or loved ones). Nullifies aura of courage if in the same vicinity, causing both auras to have no affect.

  • Aura of Lies - Your silver tongue causes those around you to believe everything you utter in the moment. Nullifies aura of truth if in the same vicinity, causing both aura's to have no affect.

  • Aura of Truth - You can instantly tell when another character is lying to you, however you can not determine what the actual truth is without someone directly stating it. This applies to hiding emotions and detecting illusions. Nullifies aura of lies if in the same vicinity, causing both auras to have no affect.

  • Demonic Aura - Those around you feel an oozing demonic, unholy presence. You can easily sense and identify those with the same aura within the same region.

  • Holy Aura - Those around you feel a sparkling divine, holy presence. You can easily sense and identify others who possess this aura in the same area as you

  • Strange Aura - Those around you are unable to detect your gender, breed, or temperament. You come across a bit odd and unusual because of this; unpredictable even.

  • Anti-Venom Aura - You have studied many dangerous plants in your day, and thus are granted a boost to immunity from poisons, venoms, and acids.

  • Elemental Aura - Causes an element of your choice (fire, water, earth, lightning, ice, air, growth, or decay) to surround/consume your character at will or at all times.

  • Negation Aura - Renders smaller spells and incantations against your character null and void. Larger scale spells, such as those used in combat are unaffected by this rule.

Wolves in Aspheria may live to be as old as 12 years of age. This means that if you play a character from birth til death at age 12 you'll be able to accomplish it within 8 years irl. This long stretch of time is intended to help our role players develop their characters at a steady, casual rate where they don't feel as though they're not able to RP out their character's life on top of toggling real life. Players who feel they are able to accomplish this earlier may have their character's start to decline at a younger age if they wish, but this process is mandatory of each character by mortal law.

The youngest a character may start on our site is 6 months with a guardian and 1 year without.

This means your character will need to find a wolf aged 1+ years on site to become their guardian or foster parent in order to be played at 6 months to a year.

Age newborn - one is considered a youth Age two - six is considered an adult. Age seven - twelve is considered an elder.

Immortality is the only known cure-all that may be used to stop the aging process and prevent death from this natural process. We're currently working on developing quests for this so please stay tuned!
